Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Du Xiaohui Visits Mauritius

On October 22, 2025, Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry and Secretary-General of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Du Xiaohui visited Mauritius, during which he met with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade Dhananjay Ramful. Chinese Ambassador to Mauritius Huang Shifang attended relevant events.

Du Xiaohui said that China and Mauritius enjoy a long-standing friendship, and bilateral cooperation in such areas as free trade and finance has been at the forefront of China-Africa cooperation. The Chinese side is ready to enhance synergy with the governing coalition led by the Labour Party, and achieve greater development of China-Mauritius relations.

Dhananjay Ramful said that China is an important strategic partner of Mauritius. Mauritius firmly abides by the one-China principle, supports China in playing a greater role in international affairs, and thanks China for its support on issues of concern to Mauritius. Mauritius is willing to work together to elevate Mauritius-China economic and trade cooperation to a higher level.

Du Xiaohui and his delegation also conducted on-site visits to bilateral cooperation projects.
