On April 20, 2005, Mr. Zhang Yan, Director-General of the Department of Arms Control and Disarmament, held talks with Mr. Nobuyasu Abe, Under Secretary-General of the United Nations in charge of the disarmament affairs, who paid the visit to China to attend the UN Workshop on Small Arms and Light Weapons.

They exchanged views on the approaching 2005 Review Conference of the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, UN reform, the work of 1540 committee of the Security Council, nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and etc.
