On August 11, Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met visiting Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gholamali Khoshroo. Both sides exchanged views on current status of Iranian nuclear issue. Li said China held all along that Iranian nuclear issue should be solved appropriately through diplomatic negotiation. Currently, China hoped that all parties concerned keep patient and solve the issue appropriately at an early date through constructive cooperation within the framework of International Atomic Energy Agency. Khoshroo briefed Iran's position and consideration on Iranian nuclear issue and thanked China for its efforts to promote the solution of the issue.

Both sides also exchanged views on Sino-Iran relations and other issues.
