On November 11, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited diplomatic envoys in China to visit "The Gift of Friendship – From Past Ties to a Shared Future – Exhibition of Diplomatic Received by China's Leaders". Around 100 diplomats, including 24 ambassadors to China, attended the event. Assistant Foreign Minister and Director-General of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hong Lei and Deputy Director of the Central Gifts and Artifacts Center Yuwen Hong were present.

In his address, Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Now China has established diplomatic relations with 183 countries, forging friendships around the world. He said that the exhibition showcases the gifts exchanged between China and various countries since the founding of the People's Republic of China, vividly illustrating the journey of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in initiating and developing the country's diplomatic endeavors, and reflecting the deep friendship between China and the governments, political parties, and peoples of various countries around the world, as well as international organizations.

Hong Lei said that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, held in July this year, emphasized that China remains firmly committed to pursuing an independent foreign policy of peace and is dedicated to promoting a human community with a shared future. Holding dear humanity's shared values, China will pursue the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative and call for an equal and orderly multipolar world and universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization. On the new journey, China will work with other countries to continuously deepen friendship, expand cooperation, enhance exchanges and mutual learning, jointly pursue peace and security, promote development and prosperity, build openness and inclusiveness, and advance progress in civilization, so as to create a brighter future for humanity together.

The event buzzed with a lively atmosphere. The diplomatic envoys present, as participants of and witnesses to China's relations with other nations, listened attentively to the guides' introductions, appreciated the various gifts with distinctive characteristics, and reminisced about the friendly exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
