On June 25, 2015, Vice Premier Wang Yang held talks with Vice President of the Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz of Cuba in Havana, Cuba.

Wang Yang expressed that President Xi Jinping paid a successful state visit to Cuba last year and reached important consensus with President Raul Castro Ruz on deepening the China-Cuba relations. On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Cuba diplomatic relations, the main purpose of my visit is to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state to turn the high-level China-Cuba political relations into tangible cooperation results, thus injecting new impetus to the development of China-Cuba relations. The two countries should strengthen cooperation planning so as to push for practical cooperation in key areas such as infrastructure construction, biotechnology, agriculture and renewable energy sources and actively explore industrial and investment cooperation. The two countries should stick to the principle of “government promotion, enterprises being the main players and commercialized operation” and optimize ways of cooperation so as to constantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the bilateral cooperation.

Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz expressed that Cuba is willing to work together with China to effectively implement the important consensus reached by President Raul Castro Ruz and President Xi Jinping on deepening the bilateral relations, and carry out cooperation in such key areas as biotechnology, pharmacy, agriculture, manufacturing, energy sources and tourism so as to achieve more positive results in the bilateral practical cooperation.

After the talks, Wang Yang and Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz together witnessed the signing of the bilateral cooperation agreements.

On that morning, Wang Yang laid a wreath at a monument honoring poet Jose Julian Marti Perez, the Cuban national hero and revolutionary pioneer.
