From April 24 to 26, 2016, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao visited Jamaica, during which he held the 2nd political consultation between the two Foreign Ministries with Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Paul Robotham of Jamaica, and paid a visit to Prime Minister Andrew Holness of Jamaica, exchanging in-depth views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern.

During the visit, Wang Chao also inspected the North-South Highway project which was invested and constructed by a China-funded company.
