Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray of Mexico

On February 17, 2017 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray of Mexico on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting in Bonn, Germany.

Wang Yi expressed that Mexico is an emerging market economy with world influence. Under the guidance of the two heads of state, the development of China-Mexico relations have entered into the fast track, and both sides have achieved new outcomes from practical cooperation. China and Mexico have brought development opportunities to each other and share tremendous cooperation space and potential. China is ready to, together with Mexico, implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, expand cooperation in investment, trade, direct route and other fields, open up new prospects for China-Mexico comprehensive strategic partnership, strengthen strategic communication in international affairs, safeguard the common interests of both countries and developing countries, and elevate South-South cooperation to new highs.

Luis Videgaray said that Mexico cherishes the friendship with China, and is glad to see China's increasing expansion of investment in Mexico and the continuous growth of bilateral trade. The two countries share same or similar stances in many international affairs. The Mexican side is full of confidence in the prospects of bilateral cooperation, and looks forward to pushing Mexico-China comprehensive strategic partnership for more outcomes.
