On February 19, 2017, President Xi Jinping and President Mauricio Macri of Argentina exchanged messages, congratulating on the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out in the congratulatory message that China and Argentina are sincere friends and partners with mutual trust, mutual benefit and win-win results. Since China and Argentina established diplomatic relations 45 years ago, bilateral relations have achieved substantial development with joint efforts made by the two sides. Xi Jinping said that Mr. President and I held two fruitful meetings last year, in which we reached important consensus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in all fields. Attaching great importance to developing relations with Argentina, I am willing to work with the Argentine side to open up a better future for bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, so as to benefit the two countries and peoples.

Mauricio Macri expressed in the congratulatory message that since both countries established diplomatic relations in 1972, the two countries have constantly deepened friendly cooperation, and bilateral relations have been lifted to a new height of comprehensive strategic partnership. With magnificent development agendas, Argentina and China should support each other, tackle challenges together, pursue common development and improve the welfare of the two peoples. Argentina is ready to work with China to constantly push forward bilateral relations.
