On April 21, 2017, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao and Deputy Foreign Minister Edgardo Riveros of Chile co-chaired the 1st meeting of China-Chile Inter-governmental Standing Committee (Bi-National Commission (BNC)) in Beijing. Representatives from political, mineral, agricultural and technological sub-committee of the BNC attended the meeting.

During the meeting, representatives of various sub-committees reported bilateral cooperation in relevant fields as well as the cooperation plan in the next stage, and agreed to continuously enhance communication and coordination, expand practical cooperation, and push China-Chile comprehensive strategic partnership for constant and in-depth development within the BNC framework.

Prior to the meeting, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao also held the 1st meeting of political sub-committee of the BNC with Deputy Foreign Minister Edgardo Riveros.
