Wang Yi Meets with First Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Carlos Alberto de Icaza González of Mexico

On May 3, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with visiting First Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Carlos Alberto de Icaza González of Mexico.

Wang Yi noted that both China and Mexico are important emerging market economies and major developing countries, and China highly values China-Mexico comprehensive strategic partnership. Under the personal guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Enrique Peña Nieto, bilateral relations have been developing rapidly. As this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Mexico diplomatic relations, pleasant news about bilateral cooperation keep pouring in. China is willing to, together with Mexico, stay concentrated and gather strength, and constantly elevate bilateral mutual trust and cooperation to new highs.

Carlos Alberto de Icaza González expressed that the Mexican government attaches importance to enhancing its relations with China from a strategic height. Mexico stands ready to make joint efforts with China to solidly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and bring all parties together into bilateral friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation, so as to further consolidate the sound development momentum of Mexico-China relations.
