On July 7, 2017 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie of Argentina in Hamburg, Germany.
Wang Yi said that China attaches high importance to its relations with Argentina, and is willing to, together with Argentina, implement consensus reached by the two heads of state, enhance exchanges at all levels, boost bilateral cooperation in trade and agricultural cooperation, and well manage major projects in energy, infrastructure and other areas, promote people-to-people and cultural and technological exchanges and cooperation, and jointly facilitate the “Belt and Road” construction, so as to promote bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership and China-Latin America relations for greater development. The two sides should communicate and coordinate closely, well implement outcomes of the G20 Hangzhou Summit and push forward the Hamburg Summit this time for a success, in a bid to make greater contributions to facilitating an open world economy and improving global economic governance. China supports Argentina to well host the G20 Summit in 2018.
Jorge Faurie said that China is an important partner of Argentina, and plays an important role in international affairs. Argentina is willing to actively participate in the “Belt and Road” construction, deepen bilateral practical cooperation in various fields, and strengthen bilateral coordination and cooperation in regional and international cooperation, so as to boost Argentina-China relations as well as Latin America-China relations for further development. Argentina stands ready to learn from China’s experience to well host the next G20 Summit.
