Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla of Cuba

On January 22, 2018 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Santiago with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla of Cuba, who was attending the Second Ministerial Meeting of the Forum of China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

Wang Yi expressed that China and Cuba enjoy special friendly relations, and both countries are good comrades, good friends and good partners. No matter how the international situation changes, China has always placed Cuba in an important position of overall diplomacy, and supported the country in following the path that suits its national conditions and enhancing its self-development capacity. China thanked Cuba for its important contributions to promoting the establishment of the China-CELAC Forum and pushing forward the forum cooperation for fruitful results. China expects that Cuba could continuously play an important role in pushing forward cooperation between China and Latin American and Caribbean countries.

Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla expressed that Cuba treasures the close relations between the two parties and the two countries, and appreciated China for its enormous support and assistance to the economic and social development of Cuba for a long time. Cuba attaches importance to China's important role in safeguarding international peace and stability, and promoting the world's economic development and South-South cooperation. Cuba is willing to further deepen bilateral relations and strengthen coordination in international affairs. Cuba is satisfied with the fruitful results achieved from the Second Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum, and stands ready to continue playing a positive role in facilitating the overall cooperation between China and Latin American and Caribbean countries.
