On October 17, 2018, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with Foreign Minister Jorge Marcelo Faurie of Argentina and held talks with Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Raimondi of Argentina respectively in Buenos Aires.
Qin Gang spoke positively of the constant and high-quality development of China-Argentina relations in recent years and expressed that, under the current international situation, the two sides should further enhance cooperation and make joint efforts to cope with external challenges. The Chinese side firmly supports the efforts of the Argentine side in maintaining its economic and financial stability, and is willing to work with the Argentine side to continue high-level exchanges, well implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and promote the cooperation between China and Argentina to a higher level and a broader range, so as to push China-Latin America relations for continuous and forward-looking development. The Chinese side fully supports the Argentine side in successfully hosting the G20 Summit.
The Argentine side appreciated the support and assistance from the Chinese side in promoting its social and economic development and hosting the G20 Summit, and stressed that developing its relations with China is the priority of Argentina's diplomacy. The Argentine side is willing to further intensify high-level exchanges between the two countries, push the bilateral cooperation for positive progress, and enhance communication and coordination in Latin America-China relations as well as multilateral affairs such as the G20 Summit.
