Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang Meets with a Delegation of Chile-China Parliamentary Friendship Group of Chamber of Deputies of Chile

On January 7, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with a delegation of Chile-China parliamentary friendship group of Chamber of Deputies of Chile.

Speaking positively of the current China-Chile relations, Qin Gang expressed that under the new circumstances, both sides should inherit the tradition of friendly cooperation, carry forward the trail-blazing spirit and push China-Chile comprehensive strategic partnership to new highs. Qin Gang expressed that since exchanges of legislative bodies are a major part of China-Chile comprehensive strategic partnership, the Chinese side attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with the National Congress of Chile and hopes the Chilean side to continuously understand and support issues involving the Chinese side's core interests and major concerns.

The Chilean side was satisfied with the current development of bilateral relations and noted that the relations with China are a priority of Chile's diplomacy, which is the consensus of successive administrations and all sectors of society of Chile. Chamber of Deputies of Chile firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and stands ready to continue to intensify exchanges between legislative bodies of both countries, in a bid to push Chile-China relations for constant and forward-looking development.
