On June 19, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with visiting Secretary of the Council of State Homero Acosta Álvarez of Cuba. Both sides had friendly and in-depth exchanges on bilateral relations and other topics.

Qin Gang expressed that China and Cuba are good comrades, good brothers and good partners sharing common goals. The Chinese side is willing to make joint efforts with the Cuban side to well implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and continue to enhance exchanges of experience in state governance and administration and construction of the rule of law of socialism, and deepen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs to safeguard the common interests of developing countries together.

Homero Acosta Álvarez noted that Cuba and China enjoy a profound traditional friendship. The Cuban side is willing to learn the Chinese side's experience in law-based governance and construction of the rule of law of socialism. Extending gratitude to the Chinese side for the long-term and precious support for Cuba, the Cuban side stands ready to work with the Chinese side to strengthen cooperation to constantly elevate bilateral relations to new highs.
