Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang Meets with Chief of Cabinet of Ministers Marcos Peña of Argentina

On June 26, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with visiting Chief of Cabinet of Ministers Marcos Peña of Argentina.

Qin Gang said that China and Argentina are comprehensive strategic partners and bilateral relations have developed rapidly and steadily in recent years. Last year, President Xi Jinping paid a successful visit to Argentina, during which he outlined a blueprint for the development of bilateral relations with President Mauricio Macri. The Chinese side is ready to work with the Argentine side to well implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen mutually beneficial and friendly cooperation in agriculture, animal husbandry, infrastructure, energy and other fields, cement coordination and cooperation on international and regional issues, and promote the G20 Osaka Summit for a success.

Marcos Peña said that the two heads of state have met many times in recent years, which has effectively led the in-depth development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Argentina and China. The Argentine side attaches great importance to its relations with China, cherishes its friendship with China, and is willing to expand cooperation with the Chinese side in such fields as trade, investment, energy and tourism, and enhance cooperation within the G20, the Southern Common Market and other mechanisms to safeguard common interests.
