On July 1, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang attended and addressed at invitation the concert marking the national day of Venezuela and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Venezuela diplomatic relations.

In his speech, Qin Gang congratulated Venezuela on its national day as well as on the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Venezuela diplomatic relations. He said that today is also a special day marking the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The CPC strives for both the wellbeing of the Chinese people and human progress. To make new and greater contributions for mankind is our Party’s abiding mission. The Chinese side cares about and follows closely the current situation in Venezuela. No matter how the situation may change, the Chinese side's policy of friendship towards Venezuela will remain unchanged. China will, as always, continue to support the Venezuelan people in their just cause of safeguarding national sovereignty, independence and dignity and in their independent exploration of a development path suited to their national conditions. Last September, President Nicolas Maduro paid a successful visit to China, during which President Xi Jinping made strategic plans for the development of bilateral relations with him. The Chinese side is ready to continue to work with the Venezuelan side to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and constantly enrich the connotation of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefit of the two peoples.

Qin Gang also exchanged views with Venezuelan Ambassador to China Ivan Zerpa Guerrero on China-Venezuela relations and other topics.
