On July 14, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang and Secretary for Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship Pablo Tettamanti of Argentina held via videolink the third meeting of political sub-committee of China-Argentina inter-governmental standing committee. Both sides exchanged views on China-Argentina relations and international and regional issues of common concern.
Zheng Zeguang said, with joint efforts of both sides, the current China-Argentina relations enjoy a good development momentum. Close communication has been maintained between leaders of both countries and at all levels. Both countries have made fruitful outcomes from cooperation in economy, trade, energy, science and technology. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Argentine side to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Alberto Fernández, deepen practical cooperation across the board, step up coordination on multilateral and regional affairs, and work together to safeguard multilateralism, in a bid to push China-Argentina comprehensive strategic partnership for sustained and in-depth development.
Speaking positively of Argentina-China relations, Pablo Tettamanti thanked the Chinese side for providing Argentina with support and assistance in fighting against the COVID-19. He expressed, the consensus of the two heads of state has charted the course for Argentina-China relations. Attaching great importance to developing its relations with China, the Argentine side is prepared to, together with the Chinese side, actively explore mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, enhance coordination on international and regional affairs, firmly support the role of the United Nations and the World Health Organization, and push forward new and greater development of Argentina-China relations.
