From June 1 to 11, 2025, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi visited Cuba, during which he met respectively with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, and Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, among others, and they had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations and practical cooperation. Chinese Ambassador to Cuba Hua Xin attended the above events.
President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez stated that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and China. The Cuba-China relationship has grown stronger over time and has become a model of solidarity and cooperation among socialist countries and developing nations. Cuba attaches great importance to its relations with China, reiterates its commitment to the one-China principle, firmly supports the Belt and Road Initiative and the three global initiatives put forth by President Xi Jinping, resolutely opposes any external forces interfering in China's internal affairs under any pretext, and is willing to work with China to build a Cuba-China community with a shared future.
Qiu Xiaoqi stated that China and Cuba are good friends, good comrades, and good partners. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the relations between the two parties and countries have continuously achieved new developments and shown fresh vibrancy. China firmly supports the Cuban people's just struggle against external interference and blockade, and supports Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty, security, and development interests. China is willing to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, enhance bilateral exchanges, deepen practical cooperation, and continuously build a China-Cuba community with a shared future.
