Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi Attends the Reception for the 204th Anniversary of the Independence of Peru

On July 25, 2025, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi attended the reception hosted by the Embassy of Peru in China to celebrate the 204th anniversary of the independence of Peru and delivered a speech.

Qiu Xiaoqi stated that in recent years, China-Peru relations have sustained high-level development. In November last year, President Xi Jinping paid a successful state visit to Peru, during which the leaders of the two countries held fruitful talks, outlining a new blueprint for bilateral cooperation in various fields. In May this year, the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum was held in Beijing. President Xi Jinping systematically summarized the successful experiences of the development of China-LAC relations and announced the launch of the five programs, which are Solidarity Program, Development Program, Civilization Program, Peace Program and People-to-People Connectivity Program. The Peruvian side made significant contributions to the successful hosting of the meeting. The Chinese side is ready to work with the Peruvian side to fully implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state and to continuously elevate China-Peru relations and overall cooperation between China and LAC countries to new heights.

Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Peru in China Gonzalo Talavera praised the achievements in the development of Peru-China relations, reaffirmed Peru's firm commitment to the one-China principle, and expressed willingness to deepen bilateral practical cooperation in various fields to elevate bilateral relations to a higher level.
