On July 28, 2025, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi met with a delegation from the Labor and Social Welfare Commission and the Friendship Group of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Chilean National Congress.

Qiu Xiaoqi highly praised the development of China-Chile relations in recent years, and expressed appreciation and gratitude for the long-standing positive role played by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Chilean National Congress in deepening exchanges and cooperation across various fields between the two countries. He stated that China is ready to work with Chile to fully implement the common understandings reached between the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum, and contribute to the steady and long-term development of the China-Chile comprehensive strategic partnership and the China-LAC community with a shared future.

Members of the delegation expressed that although they come from different political parties, they are all committed to the friendship between Chile and China. They expressed their willingness to further strengthen mutual learning with the Chinese side in politics, culture, economy, social development and other fields, create greater benefits for the people of both countries, and jointly uphold multilateralism, free trade, and economic globalization.
