Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi Attends the 10th FEALAC Foreign Ministers' Meeting

On August 22, 2025, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi attended the 10th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the Forum for East Asia- Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) held in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.

In his speech at the meeting, Qiu Xiaoqi stated that China attaches great importance to and actively participates in the cooperation within the FEALAC. He expressed the hope that countries in the region will unite and assist each other, work together to meet challenges, pursue mutual benefit and win-win results, and seek cooperation and development, while embracing openness and inclusiveness, and safeguarding fairness and justice. China will always be a good friend and good partner of East Asian and Latin American countries, follow the guidance of the significant vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind proposed by President Xi Jinping, continuously build consensus, jointly address challenges, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for East Asia and Latin America.

The FEALAC currently has 36 member countries, including China, and aims to promote political dialogue and economic cooperation between East Asia and Latin America. This year's Foreign Ministers' Meeting, themed "25 Years and Beyond: Vision for East Asia and Latin America", was attended by foreign ministers or representatives from 32 member countries in East Asia and Latin America. The meeting adopted the "Ulaanbaatar Declaration".
