On June 1, 2026, Vice President Han Zheng met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira in Beijing.

Han Zheng said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the building of a China-Brazil community with a shared future has continued to move forward steadily. China has always viewed and developed China-Brazil relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. China stands ready to work with Brazil to deliver on the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, advance high-level strategic coordination, and demonstrate the commitment of major countries in safeguarding the interests of developing countries and promoting common development. China-Brazil practical cooperation boasts strong complementarity and robust internal dynamics. The two sides should better leverage the role of mechanisms such as the China-Brazil High-level Coordination and Cooperation Committee (COSBAN) and steer cooperation toward higher technological content, greater added value and stronger strategic significance.

Mauro Vieira noted that political mutual trust between Brazil and China has been further strengthened through interactions between the two heads of state. At present, multilateralism is suffering an unprecedented blow. It is of particular importance to deepen the building of a Brazil-China community with a shared future. Brazil is ready to work with China to give play to the coordinating role of the COSBAN and deepen cooperation across all fields.
