On June 6, 2025, Director-General of the Department of Security Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry Wang Lixin led an interdepartmental delegation to attend the tenth meeting of the BRICS Counter-Terrorism Working Group held in Brasilia.
Wang Lixin introduced China's views on the current international and regional counter-terrorism situation, clarified China's major counter-terrorism concerns, and put forward specific suggestions on strengthening counter-terrorism cooperation among BRICS countries. She called on the expanded BRICS family to firmly establish a sense of a community with a shared future, implement the Global Security Initiative, enhance solidarity and coordination, promote more achievements in the Greater BRICS counter-terrorism cooperation, and jointly make greater contributions to maintaining international and regional security and stability.
The meeting was chaired by Brazil, the rotating chairmanship. Representatives from all BRICS member countries, including Russia, India, and South Africa, attended the meeting. Before the meeting, China chaired the de-radicalization sub-working group meeting of the BRICS Counter-Terrorism Working Group.
