Head of the Department of Security Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Attends the International Seminar on "Working Together to Build Common Security: China and Africa in Action"

On December 4, 2025, the International Seminar on "Working Together to Build Common Security: China and Africa in Action" was held at the headquarters of the African Union (AU). Director-General of the Department of Security Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wang Lixin attended and addressed the event. Head of the Chinese Mission to the AU Jiang Feng was present.

Wang Lixin said that the current international situation is marked by intertwined changes and turmoil, and China's implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan provides vast opportunities for the world. China and Africa should join hands to implement the Global Security Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative, advance modernization underpinned by peace and security, promote the improvement of the global governance system, and build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future, making greater contributions to humanity's peace and development.

Participants noted that China's initiatives offer Chinese solutions to address challenges in Africa and around the world. They said that China plays an important role in safeguarding and promoting Africa's security and prosperity, and that China-Africa cooperation will bring more positive energy to the world.

The seminar was jointly organized by the Chinese Mission to the AU, the AU Commission, and the United Nations Office to the AU, among others. Over 100 people, including representatives from AU member states and UN agencies, and experts from renowned think tanks, attended the event.
