Director-Generals of the Department of Treaty and Law of Ministries of Foreign Affairs of China and Mongolia Hold the First Consultation in Beijing

On April 3, 2015, Director-Generals of the Department of Treaty and Law of Ministries of Foreign Affairs of China and Mongolia held the first consultation in Beijing. The Chinese delegation was headed by Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Xu Hong, and composed of officials from the Department of Treaty and Law and the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Mongolian side was headed by Director of International Law Association of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tumur Amarsanaa of Mongolia, and officials sent by the Mongolian Embassy in China attended as members of the delegation.

The two sides fully exchanged views on fighting against transnational crime, pursuing outlaws and recovering illicit assets, submitting reports and treaty management to human rights treaty bodies, the work of International Law Commission of the United Nations (UN) and the Asian African Legal Consultative Organization(AALCO) and so on. The consultation atmosphere was friendly and practical, and the discussion was broad and thorough. The two sides unanimously agreed that China and Mongolia are both developing countries, and important neighbors to each other. Therefore, strengthening communication and coordination on major issues of international law is beneficial to boosting mutual trust, promoting cooperation and deepening bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of mutual benefits and win-win results.
