On September 23-26, 2022, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs Wu Hongbo visited France. He met respectively with French Prime Minister's Advisor for Foreign and Diplomatic Relations Pauline Carmona, Director-General for Political Affairs and Security at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Philippe Errera, and Vice President of the Renaissance Group (the ruling party) of the National Assembly, and held discussions with former French Foreign Minister Hubert Védrine and President of the Cercle des économistes Jean-Hervé Lorenzi, among others.

The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-France and China-EU relations, cooperation in various fields and current major international and regional issues. Both sides agreed that the two countries should continue to strengthen communication and coordination and promote greater development of China-France comprehensive strategic partnership.
