On September 26, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Hua Chunying met with Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission Charlina Vitcheva.

Hua Chunying spoke highly of the positive results of the China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership over the past two decades. She said that China stands ready to work with the EU to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in multilateral maritime and polar affairs, upgrade the blue partnership, and inject new momentum into the development of China-EU relations.

Charlina Vitcheva said that there are many highlights in the EU-China maritime and polar cooperation. The EU is ready to continue to deepen relevant cooperation, constantly enrich the EU-China comprehensive strategic partnership, and jointly make new contributions to global maritime governance.
