On July 8, 2021, Director-General of the Department of Arms Control of the Foreign Ministry Fu Cong attended the video conference of five nuclear-weapon states. Acting Assistant Secretary of Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation of the U.S. State Department C.S. Eliot Kang, Deputy Director of Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control Vladimir Leontyev, Director for Defence and International Security at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom Samantha Job, and Head of Directorate for Strategic Affairs, Security and Disarmament of Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Philippe Bertoux attended the conference. All parties had an in-depth discussion on issues such as strategic stability, and the Tenth Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
