On April 7, 2025, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning met with Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Jussi Halla-aho in Beijing.

Wang Huning said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Finland 75 years ago, bilateral relations have maintained steady and sound development. Last year, President Xi Jinping held talks with President Alexander Stubb, who was on a state visit to China, and reached broad common understandings on strengthening partnership and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation. China is ready to work with Finland to follow the blueprint drawn up by the two heads of state, consolidate political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation and deepen people-to-people exchanges to continuously enrich the future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership between China and Finland. The National Committee of the CPPCC of China will contribute to the development of China-Finland relations.

Jussi Halla-aho said that China has a long history and is one of the most dynamic major economies in the world. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Finland and China. Finland adheres to the one-China policy and is willing to work with China to uphold mutual respect and trust, strengthen cooperation, promote the development of Finland-China and Europe-China relations, and jointly tackle challenges. The Finnish Parliament is willing to make positive efforts to this end.

Wang Dongfeng, among others, attended the meeting.
