Chinese Special Envoy to the Middle East Wu Sike Meets with Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Intelligence Minister Dan Meridor

On August 25, 2011, the Chinese Special Envoy to the Middle East Wu Sike who is visiting Israel met with Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Intelligence Minister Dan Meridor.

Wu said that the unrest in the Middle East which is still going on should not influence the progress of the peace process there. China admires and supports both Israel and Palestine's adherence to the strategic choice of peace talks and hopes the two sides resume the talks as soon as possible so as to ultimately solve the Palestine-Israel issue through peace talks.

Meridor noted that Israel insists on peace talks to solve the issue with Palestine and is committed to achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.
