Chinese Special Envoy on the Middle East Issue Wu Sike Holds Telephone Conversation with Arab League Secretary General Arabi

On October 29, 2011, Wu Sike, Chinese special envoy on the Middle East issue who was visiting Saudi Arabia held telephone conversation with the Arab League Secretary General Arabi.

Wu elaborated China's relevant principled position and expressed admiration for the Arab League's efforts of easing the situation in Syria. He said that the Syrian situation remains severe and hopes the Arab League continue to play a constructive role on the issue and maintain the interests of all the Arab states.

Arabi introduced the Syrian situation, expressed admiration for China's position and indicated willingness of maintaining communications with China on the issue.
