On November 14, 2016 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Ankara with Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and President of China-Turkey Joint Economic and Trade Commission on the Turkish side Berat Albayrak of Turkey.

Wang Yi spoke positively of the development of China-Turkey relations, and expressed that economic and trade cooperation as well as security and anti-terrorism cooperation are two major aspects of bilateral relations at present. China is willing to work with the Turkish side to well implement the important consensus reached between both heads of state, vigorously enhance economic and trade cooperation, further deepen cooperation in security and anti-terrorism, and accommodate each other's core concerns. It is hoped that Turkey could continuously provide strong coordination to the Chinese side in fighting against the "Eastern Turkistan" anti-China separatist force, eliminate interference and give play to its potential, so as to ensure the smooth development of bilateral practical cooperation.

Berat Albayrak noted that Turkey-China relations are entering into a new development stage. Turkey treats bilateral relations from a strategic height, and will not allow any event that could damage China's stability and security within its territory. The Turkish side will continue to create favorable conditions, so as to facilitate more smooth development of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
