On April 10, 2017, President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolences to President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt over the successive terrorist bombing attacks against Coptic churches in Tanta and Alexandria of Egypt on April 9, expressed profound condolences to the innocent victims and extended sincere sympathies to President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, the bereaved families and the injured.

Xi Jinping pointed out in his message of condolences that China firmly opposes terrorism in all forms and strongly condemns the barbarous attacks. The Chinese people will stand firmly with the Egyptian people and resolutely support Egypt's efforts in safeguarding national security and stability, as well as fighting against terrorism.
