Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming and Deputy Foreign Minister Ebrahim Rahimpour of Iran Hold China-Iran Political Consultations between the Two Foreign Ministries

On May 25, 2017, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming and Deputy Foreign Minister Ebrahim Rahimpour of Iran held China-Iran political consultations between the two Foreign Ministries in Beijing.

Speaking positively of China-Iran relations, Zhang Ming expressed that China attaches great importance to developing bilateral relations, and is willing to, together with Iran, take the comprehensive implementation of outcomes of President Xi Jinping's visit to Iran as a principal line to expand high-level exchanges, enhance political mutual trust and deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields under the framework of the "Belt and Road", so as to push China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership for new development. China will work with all related parties to boost the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue toward the comprehensive, long-term and effective implementation.

Ebrahim Rahimpour said that to develop its relations with China is the top priority of Iran's diplomatic policy. Speaking highly of the "Belt and Road" initiative, Iran is willing to work with China to integrate development strategies, and jointly advance bilateral cooperation in various fields including politics, economies, people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as security for more results.

Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
