From May 28 to 29, 2017, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Gong Xiaosheng visited Israel, during which he met respectively with Deputy Director General and Head of the Center for Policy Research in the Foreign Ministry Benny Dagan, Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories for Palestinian Government Affairs of the Defense Forces Major General Yoav Mordechai of Israel, Deputy Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East Sandra Mitchell and Special Representative of the EU for the Middle East Peace Process Fernando Gentilini, exchanging in-depth views on the Palestine-Israel issue, the situation in the Middle East and other topics.
