Director General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Xu Hong Leads Delegation to Israel for Consultation

From June 12 to 13, 2017, Director General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Xu Hong led a delegation to Israel, and held the first round of consultation between Director-Generals (Legal Advisors) of the Departments of Treaty and Law of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of China and Israel with Legal Advisor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tal Becker of Israel. Both sides had in-depth views on diplomatic legal work, the International Criminal Court, anti-terrorism, recognition of customary international law, the UN and the Middle East peace process, state immunity, the UN Security Council sanctions, outer space laws and other important international law issues.

During his stay in Israel, Xu Hong also paid courtesy calls on Deputy State Attorney Yehuda Shaffer and Director of International Affairs at the Ministry of Justice Yuval Kaplinsky of Israel respectively, during which they had exchanges on bilateral mutual judicial assistance, extradition, repatriation, asset recovery and other topics.
