From November 23 to 26, 2017, Ambassador for China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Li Chengwen visited the headquarters of the League of Arab States (LAS) and Egypt. During the visit, Li Chengwen respectively met with LAS Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, LAS Assistant Secretary-General Khalid Al Habas, and Assistant Foreign Minister and Permanent Representative of Egypt to LAS Atawy. H.E. Song Aiguo, Chinese Ambassador to Egypt and Minister Counselor Mme. Liu Yongfeng participated in above events respectively.
Li Chengwen expressed that the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was successfully convened last month, which not only formulated a grand blueprint for China's development in the future, but brought opportunities to and injected strong impetus into the development of relations between China and all countries including the Arab states. The LAS and Egypt congratulated on the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress, noted that both the LAS and the Arab states attach high importance to the 19th CPC National Congress, and are willing to share China's development opportunities, so as to achieve common development.
Li Chengwen exchanged views with the LAS and Egypt on the 8th Ministerial Meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum to be held in China next year, the construction of the CASCF, regional situation and other topics.
