On December 27, 2017, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and State Councilor Yang Jiechi met at Zhongnanhai with Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid Bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Falih and Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan of Saudi Arabia.
Yang Jiechi noted that under the guidance of President Xi Jinping and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, China-Saudi Arabia comprehensive strategic partnership has achieved substantial progress. China has always regarded Saudi Arabia as a priority in its diplomacy toward the Middle East. China stands ready to, together with Saudi Arabia, implement the outcomes of the China-Saudi Arabia High-Level Joint Committee, dock China's Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, and forge a new cooperation pattern benefiting the people of the two countries.
The Saudi Arabian side expressed that King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud attach great importance to Saudi Arabia's relations with China and regard China as a future-oriented important cooperation partner. Saudi Arabia is willing to strengthen strategy alignment with China and deepen Saudi Arabia-China comprehensive strategic partnership.
