From December 3 to 5, 2018, Ambassador for China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Li Chengwen visited Mauritania, during which, he respectively met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ismael Ould Cheikh Ahmed of Mauritania and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ahmed Mahmoud Ould Soueid'Ahmed of Mauritania. They exchanged views on China-Mauritania relations, the building of the CASCF and other topics. H.E. Zhang Jianguo, Chinese Ambassador to Mauritania, attended the above activities.

During the visit, Li Chengwen also communicated with principals, experts and scholars from Mauritanian Institute for Strategic Studies.
