On July 23, 2019, Vice President Wang Qishan attended the reception marking the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Beijing, and met with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Wang Qishan expressed, the development concepts of China and the UAE have much in common, and the two countries enjoy highly complementary cooperation and a solid foundation of public opinions. Resting on a solid foundation, bilateral relations are of great regional influence. For the past 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relationship, China-UAE cooperation in various areas has yielded abundant achievements. In the past two years, the leaders of both countries have successfully exchanged visits, pushing bilateral relations for a leapfrog development. The Chinese side regards the UAE as the closest friend and a reliable strategic partner. In this new era and at the new starting point, we are ready to make joint efforts with the UAE friends to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and elevate China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership to new highs.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said, the UAE is China's reliable partner in the Gulf region. The UAE side is willing to work with the Chinese side to inherit the past and forge ahead into the future, take the opportunity of joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative to deepen bilateral cooperation and exchanges in all fields, and enhance communication and coordination in international affairs, thus to promote bilateral relations to a higher level.
