External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping Meets with Turkish Ambassador to China Abdülkadir Emin Önen

On August 27, 2020, External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping met with Turkish Ambassador to China Abdülkadir Emin Önen, exchanging views on topics including bilateral relations and bilateral cooperation in security.

Cheng Guoping said, China and Turkey overcame the impact of COVID-19, maintained close communication at all levels, actively carried out practical cooperation in anti-epidemic and other areas, and have seen positive progress. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Turkish side to further implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, and deepen cooperation in areas including security, so as to push China-Turkey strategic cooperative relationship for healthy development.

Abdülkadir Emin Önen spoke highly of the mutual support and help between Turkey and China in the fight against the epidemic. He said, the Turkish side is willing to, together with the Chinese side, take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to strengthen high-level exchanges, comprehensively deepen practical cooperation in all fields, and push bilateral relations to new highs.
