China and Egypt Hold the Third Round of Consular Consultation

On December 11, 2024, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Long Zhou and Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptian Expatriates Conakry Tamer Kamal El-Meligy held the third round of China-Egypt consular consultation in Cairo. Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang attended the consultation.

The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Egypt consular relations, facilitating personnel exchanges, and protecting the safety and legitimate rights and interests of overseas citizens, among other issues, and agreed to deliver on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, strengthen consular cooperation, promote arrangements for facilitating personnel exchanges, protect the safety and legitimate rights and interests of overseas citizens and institutions, and advance the development of China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership.
