Cai Qi Meets with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly

On August 30, 2025, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee Cai Qi met in Tianjin with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, who is in China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2025.

Cai Qi noted that President Xi Jinping and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met twice last year and reached important common understandings on deepening bilateral relations and advancing cooperation in various fields, drawing a blueprint for the development of China-Egypt relations under the new circumstances. Next year will mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. China is ready to work with Egypt to continue to deliver on the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, firmly support each other, promote greater development in cooperation across various fields, and continuously advance bilateral relations towards the goal of building a China-Egypt community with a shared future in the new era.

Mostafa Madbouly stated that Egypt firmly abides by the one-China principle, and supports the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. He added that Egypt is willing to learn from China's development experience, strengthen practical cooperation between the two sides, and continuously elevate the Egypt-China comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
