On November 18, 2025, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Secretary-General of the League of Arab States (LAS) Ahmed Aboul Gheit, who is in China for the China-Arab Civilization Dialogue.
Wang Yi congratulated the LAS on its 80th anniversary, and praised the commitment of the LAS to seeking strength through unity among Arab states, to safeguarding peace and stability in the Middle East, and playing a unique and key role in regional and international affairs. He wishes the LAS new and greater development in the future.
Wang Yi stated that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and leaders of Arab states, the China-Arab relationship has achieved rapid development and is now at its best in history. China is the most trustworthy partner of the Arab states. China firmly supports Arab states in eliminating external interference to embark on development paths that suit their national conditions, enhancing their strategic autonomy to keep the future firmly in their own hands, and seeking strength through unity, to jointly safeguard regional peace and stability. The 21st century should be an era of revitalization for China, Arab states, and all developing nations. China never interferes in other countries' internal affairs, nor does it engage in geopolitical rivalry. The goal of China-Arab states cooperation is to achieve common development and prosperity, and promote the modernization of all countries.
Wang Yi noted that next year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Arab states, and the second China-Arab States Summit is scheduled to be held in China, which will surely become another milestone event in the history of China-Arab relations. China appreciates the resolution adopted by the Council of Foreign Ministers of the LAS, expressing high regard and active support for hosting the summit. China is ready to work with Arab states to take the summit as an opportunity to enhance strategic mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and build a higher-level China-Arab community with a shared future.

Wang Yi stated that China appreciates the commitment of the LAS to the just settlement of the Palestinian question, and China always stands with the Arab states. Any arrangements for Gaza after the conflict should embody the fundamental principle of "Palestinians governing Palestine" and must adhere to the overarching direction of the two-State solution without wavering. Only in this way can historical injustices be truly resolved and lasting peace and stability in the Middle East be achieved. China will continue to uphold justice on the international stage, steadfastly support the restoration of Palestine's legitimate national rights, and firmly advance the resumption and realization of the two-State solution. History will always move forward, and it will not stagnate, let alone retrogress. The just cause will surely be realized.
Ahmed Aboul Gheit congratulated the successful convening of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the adoption of the Recommendations for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan. He said that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China is making great strides along the right path and has achieved remarkable success in its diplomacy. China's tremendous development achievements are not only admirable but also give confidence to Arab states. The Arab side attaches great importance to growing relations with China, and supports the four global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping. The Arab side is willing to work with China to make good preparations for the second China-Arab States Summit next year, and open up broader prospects for Arab states-China relations. The LAS appreciates China's upholding of fairness and justice on the Palestinian question, and expects China to continue playing a constructive role. The LAS applauds China's commitment to multilateralism, and is willing to strengthen multilateral collaboration with China to jointly promote world peace and stability.
