On November 14, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with Ambassador of Türkiye to China Selçuk Ünal at the latter's request, and they exchanged views on China-Türkiye relations and international and regional issues of common concern.

Miao Deyu stated that during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Tianjin Summit this year, President Xi Jinping and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a successful meeting, charting the course for the development of China-Türkiye relations in the next stage. Next year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Türkiye. China is ready to work with Türkiye to fully implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, support each other's core interests and major concerns, seek high-quality synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and the "Middle Corridor" plan, and deepen cooperation in such fields as trade, investment, finance, tourism, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges. Both China and Türkiye uphold multilateralism and support multilateral cooperation, and should continuously strengthen communication and cooperation on international and regional issues.

Selçuk Ünal said that Türkiye attaches great importance to developing relations with China, firmly abides by the one-China principle, and is willing to work with China to take the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to promote greater development of Türkiye-China relations. As the new Ambassador to China, he expressed his willingness to make unremitting efforts to deepen the friendship between Türkiye and China.
