On February 16, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong met with Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai.
Nong Rong said that General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President Xi Jinping invited General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong to visit China shortly after the successful conclusion of the 20th CPC National Congress, and the top leaders of the two parties had in-depth communication on a series of major strategic issues and drew a grand blueprint for the future development of China-Vietnam relations. China is ready to work with Vietnam to coordinate the implementation of the important common understandings reached during the visit, continuously advance cooperation in various fields, and push forward the development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam in the new era.
Pham Sao Mai said that Vietnam thanks China for providing valuable support and assistance in its fight against the pandemic and its efforts to recover the economy and improve the people's livelihood. The Vietnamese side is ready to work with the Chinese side to earnestly implement the important outcomes of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to China, and take bilateral cooperation in various fields to a new level.
