President Xi Jinping recently replied to a letter from Central Asian students at China University of Petroleum (Beijing), encouraging them to make greater contributions to the development of relations between China and Central Asian countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Central Asian countries are linked by mountains and rivers, and that they enjoy profound friendship and a shared future. President Xi said that in 2013, he put forward the initiative of jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt in Central Asian countries. Over the past decade, China-Central Asia relations have been constantly brought to new levels, and cooperation in various fields has moved onto the fast track, delivering benefits to people of the two sides.

Xi Jinping emphasized that friendly relations between China and Central Asian countries need to be carried forward from generation to generation by ambitious and promising youths. President Xi noted that the students are witnesses, beneficiaries, and, more importantly, builders and ambassadors of China-Central Asia relations. President Xi expressed his hope that the students will take an active part in the friendship between China and Central Asian countries, carry forward the Silk Road spirit, better tell China’s stories and Central Asia’s stories, act as envoys of friendship and bridges of cooperation, and contribute to building an even closer China-Central Asia community with a shared future.

Recently, students from Central Asian countries at China University of Petroleum (Beijing) wrote a letter to Xi Jinping and shared  their studies and lives in China. They expressed their determination to study hard, strengthen cooperation and contribute to building a China-Central Asia community with a shared future.
