On September 13, 2023, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong met with Ambassador of Nepal to China Bishnu Pukar Shrestha.

Liu said that since the beginning of this year, China and Nepal have had frequent bilateral interactions, and many government and political party delegations have visited China for meetings or visits, which has deepened the understanding and mutual trust between the two countries. China stands ready to work with Nepal to continue supporting each other on issues related to each other's core interests, seek greater synergy between development strategies, and jointly address risks and challenges.

Bishnu Pukar Shrestha said that Nepal shares geographic proximity and cultural affinity with China. Nepal remains committed to the one-China policy, always supports China in safeguarding its core interests, and looks forward to further carrying forward traditional friendship and deepening cooperation across various fields with China. Nepal is willing to continue to advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation with China, learn from China's experience in economic and social development, and achieve common development and prosperity for the benefit of the two peoples.
