On April 21, 2025, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council Ding Xuexiang co-chaired the first meeting of a high-level committee for China-UAE investment cooperation with Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan via video link in Beijing.

Ding Xuexiang said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership has flourished, setting a model for relations between China and Arab countries in the new era. The establishment of a high-level committee for China-UAE investment cooperation is conducive to promoting more achievements in bilateral cooperation and meets the common aspirations and practical needs of both sides. China is ready to work with the UAE to deliver on the common understandings reached between the two heads of state and further boost the scale and efficiency of investment cooperation to take the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.

Ding Xuexiang fully affirmed the achievements made since the establishment of the committee and put forth a three-point proposal on deepening investment cooperation between the two countries. First, the two sides should give full play to the steering and coordinating role of the committee, strengthen the synergy of strategies, plans, and policies in the investment field and jointly come up with new approaches and measures to deepen cooperation. Second, the two countries should give full play to the leading role of major projects and map out and implement a batch of major projects in key areas under the Belt and Road Initiative. Third, the two sides should give full play to the role of enterprises of the two countries as the main players in bilateral cooperation, and encourage and guide the enterprises to actively explore more areas of cooperation and innovate their ways of cooperation, so as to deliver more solid progress in bilateral investment cooperation.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the UAE highly appreciates the close development of its relations with China and is full of confidence in China's economy. The UAE is willing to enhance investment cooperation with China, so as to leverage their complementary advantages and promote common prosperity.

The meeting reviewed work reports from the secretariat and reports on cooperation between the committee members and related enterprises. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the work of the next stage, and reached broad consensus and results.
